A resource for environmental activists based in South Australia
Acknowledgement
Peaceful Purpose Training operates on unceded Aboriginal land, and we pay respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge the sovereignty of Indigenous people across the globe, and in particular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, the owners and custodians of Australia and its islands who have never given up their connection with country. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
Peaceful Purpose Training supports the cultural, spiritual, ecological and economic regeneration of the Aboriginal peoples of this place assisted by the actions and powers of individuals, organisations and governments.
As activists, we are fighting against systems of social, ecological and climate injustice that are all linked to colonisation. We acknowledge that protesting carries different risks and implications for different people. Aboriginal people and other marginalised groups are more likely to be targeted, hurt or killed by police or correctional officers. While we try to be mindful of racism and colonisation in the training and resources that we provide, and we acknowledge it is not up to others to teach us, we are grateful for feedback to learn and improve.
